In order to meet its objective of positioning KCU as one of the top schools for medical education in the country, their anatomy lab needed a complete remodel. McCownGordon served as the construction manager on the renovation that now features both laboratory and classroom space within the teaching area. McCownGordon demolished the existing area to create a larger space for the anatomy laboratory. The addition of highly durable epoxy flooring and paint throughout the space helps maintain a clean working area when in use by students. The team also added multi-media viewing equipment above each station to help facilitate 21st century learning techniques. The existing anatomy lab was expanded into other adjacent spaces, including the build-out of a new fresh tissue lab. Construction included demolition, metal stud framing and drywall, ceilings, flooring, MEP, and finishes.
