Washburn Rural High School CTE Addition – Project in Progress

McCownGordon is completing an expansion and renovation at Washburn Rural High School in Topeka, Kansas. The project includes an approximately 60,000 square feet addition of a new Career Technical Education (CTE)/Innovation wing and a 7,000 square feet addition of a new multi-purpose/gymnasium wing.

Renovations to the existing CTE suites and classroom space will also take place. Additionally, the project features a JRTOC shooting range and a greenhouse which is being built into the envelope of the second floor.

This is an extensive renovation with three summers of work, so the McCownGordon team is working closely with the school to phase the project in the most efficient way possible. The team is prioritizing safety and communication with students, staff and visitors throughout the occupied renovation.
