Project Case Study
The Kansas Health and Environment Laboratory is a full-service facility, providing clinical and environmental tests. The three-story building will house all new wet and dry diagnostic laboratories, including BSL-3, inorganic chemistry, instrument, genome, mass spec, serology, and bacteriology. Additional scope includes shipping and receiving facilities, administration offices and staff amenity spaces.

The new facility is anticipated to be approximately 100,000+ square feet. It will house all of the functions of the Office of Laboratory Services and provide significant space for future growth. With construction expected to be complete by the end of 2024, the project consists of multiple high-technology biology, chemistry and diagnostic laboratories, in addition to a BSL-3 lab. Additional scope includes shipping and receiving facilities, administration offices and staff amenity spaces. This cutting-edge, transformative facility will provide the State of Kansas with the resources necessary to provide high-quality laboratory services throughout the state.
