The expansion seeks to create environments that foster innovation and embody qualities of a global leader—enhancing spaces that reflect the superior products Garmin makes and all the areas they operate.
The $353 million project includes expansive office space, training and conference space, fitness center, dining and food service, collaboration and creative hubs, warehouse and manufacturing facility, outdoor event space, recreation fields and running trails, parking garage and associated sitework and landscaping. The project is being completed in phases and spans five years.
Phase II is currently underway totaling more than 600,000 SF and includes office space, conference/training/classroom space, dining cafeteria and food service for 1,100 associates, auditorium meeting space for 1,000, expansive outdoor event space and a large fitness center with multiple gyms and dedicated areas for cardio fitness, weights, classes and wellness.
Phase I included 750,000 SF of distribution and clean room manufacturing space providing a creative and flexible setting for engineering teams. A 4-story parking garage and pedestrian plaza added 1,285 parking stalls, and improved access and safety. The 35-acre site also received extended walking trails, and recreational soccer and sand volleyball fields.
The team is working closely with Garmin to prioritize phases to achieve aggressive schedules while maintaining safe sites. All phases are being constructed on the active campus while working around operations. McCownGordon’s creative thinking and effort in the preconstruction phase has saved the client significant long-term operational and maintenance costs, as well as improved overall quality and increased realized amenity space.
