McCownGordon Construction completed Blue Valley Elementary School 24.

Notable features include a climbing wall, art room with a clay kiln and an abundance of natural light coming through the many windows. The site that the elementary school sits on was a complex and large cut/fill project from an earthwork perspective. During pre-construction, the McCownGordon team performed multiple rounds of value engineering where the original two story building plan was value engineered down to one single story.

This was the Blue Valley School District’s first construction manager at risk project; the entire AEC team worked collaboratively in order to demonstrate the value of the construction manager at risk delivery method.
