One of the new schools is the district’s first-ever Early Childhood Center (ECC). The facility is a ground-up 60,000 SF school which will serve as prototype for future similar facilities.
As the Construction Manager at Risk on the project, McCownGordon is leveraging our expertise working with unique learning environments and coordinating with specialized vendors that provide the detailed learning spaces. The building design includes two themed classroom wings called “neighborhoods” that stem from a large central courtyard and library. These neighborhoods include four learning-experience rooms, four traditional classrooms and two ECSE classroom that surround two large multli-purpose spaces. The building shape was designed to maximize natural light throughout all the areas.
