The new addition and renovation provides teaching and learning spaces tuned to the future, with space for students to experience immersive learning in state-of-the-art simulation environments. The $6 million project includes a new 10,000 square foot simulation hospital with a nurses’ station, four exam rooms, six hospital rooms, a control room, an observation area and supporting workspaces. The space also includes a multi-functional, active-learning classroom that seats 160, a specialized classroom for a digital cadaver, student study spaces equipped with the latest technology and selective renovation of the existing facility’s classrooms, meeting spaces and public areas.

Construction included a new fire sprinkler system and plumbing upgrades to the existing building. The new addition required coordination with the existing building at the tie-in location. The team worked nimbly and adjusted the plan after demolition, which revealed the facility’s existing conditions.
