Lincoln Middle School & Lincoln College Prep Academy Football Stadium

Project Case Study
McCownGordon recently completed a total renovation to the Lincoln Middle School and is finishing a new high school football stadium for Lincoln Prep Academy for Kansas City Public Schools. Originally built in 1957, Lincoln Middle School had been partially vacated and housing the district’s administrative and maintenance facilities. The repurposing the school back into a learning environment included flexible, 21-century classrooms, breakout and collaboration spaces, new kitchen equipment and an updated gymnasium.

The team also updated the aged building to today’s code requirements as well as a full HVAC and roof replacement. The newly renovated school houses approximately 550 students with future expansion possible.

Kansas City Public Schools set aggressive minority and women business enterprise (MBE/WBE) participation goals. The team took a proactive approach to meet these goals through multiple events with the community’s trade partners including town hall meetings, small group informational meetings and one-on-one meetings
