With the addition featured as the new main entry, infrastructure changes were the first priority. The team relocated the main entry drive during the first summer months on-site before students returned in the fall.
The new space includes a front office/administration area, media center, large group presentation room, new classroom space, and an enclosed exterior courtyard that serves as a dining, gathering and performance space. The project’s focal point is the “Blue Wall” a load-bearing, glazed CMU wall constructed on a radius that extends through Eagle Way, the addition’s main corridor. As a load-bearing wall, it was installed first, but because it is a finished product the team protected it throughout the entire project. Eagle Way features a polished concrete floor and connects each of the spaces.
