
The project will included 3.5 acres of site development, including 500 linear feet of steam tunnel. It also includes laboratory spaces, animal holding areas, incinerator, vehicle wash/bay, autoclaves, sterilizers and fume hoods. The lab spaces are specialized for areas such as molecular diagnostics, virology, microbiology, bacteriology, serology, pathology and necropsy.
Laboratory-grade finishes such as casework, finishes, stainless steel, epoxy flooring, rubber flooring are included in this project. The project is MEP critical, and there will be BSL Level 3 laboratories and very specific laboratory finishes.


The team faced multiple phases and had to work around harsh winters in South Dakota, but the building will achieve LEED Silver status upon completion.
