KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The MIAA has announced a two-year partnership extension with McCownGordon Construction to remain the presenting sponsor of the MIAA Commissioner’s Cup. The agreement will include the 2020-21 and the 2021-22 academic years.

“The MIAA is pleased to announce that we have extended our partnership with McCownGordon Construction, the region’s largest and most respected Construction Management Group,” said MIAA Commissioner Mike Racy. “McCownGordon is committed to their core values of integrity, relationships and performance; values that align very well with the MIAA’s core principles. Their involvement with building facilities on campuses in the midwest has helped students and faculty be successful, and this partnership extension demonstrates their commitment to the success of intercollegiate athletics in the MIAA.”

The MIAA Commissioner’s Cup, presented by McCownGordon Construction, is an all-sports award presented at the end of each academic year to the league’s top performing school in conference play and is based on a point system, reflecting the finish of each team in conference play. Central Missouri has won in 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2019-20 while Pittsburg State hoisted the cup in 2018-19.

“McCownGordon Construction is excited to continue our partnership with the MIAA and being the presenting sponsor of the Commissioner’s Cup,” said Matt Glenn, Project Executive. “We value the opportunity to support the MIAA’s mission to provide opportunities to student-athletes.”

McCownGordon has been the presenting sponsor of the Commissioner’s Cup for each of the past four years.  McCownGordon has significant experience in a variety of market sectors including planning, servicing, and completing higher education and sports projects and is recognized as one of the region’s largest construction managers with offices in both Missouri and Kansas.
