McCownGordon Construction Names Chief Operating Officer
Steve Levy promoted to COO role
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (April 7, 2021) – Steve Levy was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of McCownGordon Construction, one of the Midwest’s largest construction firms. He formerly served as senior vice president, Operations for the regional construction firm. Over the past two years, Levy took on significant additional responsibilities beyond construction operations, including overseeing the IT department, Specialty Services which includes Engineering Services and Virtual Design and Construction, as well as Safety, QAQC and Preconstruction. He also serves on the company’s Leadership Team.

He’s streamlined many of our processes and procedures, enhancing the performance of our organization and earning the respect of associates, clients and trade partners. As COO, he’ll play an instrumental role in scaling the company for additional growth and expansion.”
Levy joined McCownGordon in 2019 and made an immediate impact, implementing several new processes to enhance the company’s construction operations. He places an emphasis on safety and quality, while also fostering innovation and forward-thinking. He oversaw the work put in place during the company’s record-breaking 2020 year and continues to provide the vision for continued expansion of the company’s operations.
Prior to joining McCownGordon, Levy spent more than 35 years in the construction industry, most recently at Cadence McShane in Dallas, TX. He previously worked at Charter Builders/Balfour Beatty Construction and started his career in Jamaica.
Outside of McCownGordon, Levy is active in several organizations, including co-chairing the KC Rising People Driving Committee and serving on the Executive Committee of Real World Learning. He graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in construction engineering.
