KANSAS CITY, Mo. (November  3, 2022) – McCownGordon Construction announced the expansion of its manufacturing business, creating a  dedicated national business unit to capitalize on the company’s growing portfolio and market demand for this specialized expertise. As part of its plan, the company hired Jeff Roy, a veteran with nearly 30 years of industry experience, primarily in the manufacturing, process and industrial contracting.

“Over our history McCownGordon served a number of clients in the manufacturing space, including pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, electronics manufacturing and other sophisticated industries requiring specialized expertise,” said Ramin Cherafat, chief executive officer of McCownGordon. “We have a great base of repeat customers in this sector and they appreciate the expertise our team brings forward, from industry-leading preconstruction services to construction management, validation and start up and project commissioning. We focus on helping them achieve the goals of their capital spending investments.”

Jeff Roy, vice president of the Manufacturing Business Unit, brings a strong track record of delivering solutions for clients, including spearheading engineering and construction management for public and private clients requiring technical solutions for large and complex projects. He will lead the company’s work in the space, providing overall direction and accountability for strategy, operations, financial performance, associate and customer engagement, and business development.

“I’m excited to build on McCownGordon’s experience in the manufacturing space and to expand our service offerings for both current clients and others in the industry,” Roy said. “McCownGordon brings robust preconstruction services and advanced technology solutions to this market segment. I look forward to working with clients to leverage those solutions to provide cost and schedule certainty while mitigating the challenges brought on by COVID and ensuring a seamless client experience.”

In addition to Roy, McCownGordon also added Jamie Bailey to the Manufacturing Business Unit, serving as Director of Client Strategy. Bailey joins the company with extensive, national experience with one of the nation’s largest architecture, engineering and construction company focused in the manufacturing and consumer packaged goods space. Bailey is responsible for strategic client development and account management and will work out of McCownGordon’s  Dallas – Fort Worth office.

“Manufacturing and industrial growth makes up one of the fastest growing construction sectors nationally and is expected to remain strong as producers look for efficiency and automation as well as supply chain resiliency and consistency, and reduced trade and supply chain risk” Cherafat added. “McCownGordon excels at technically challenging and sophisticated projects and with our background in this arena, our focused and experienced team, we feel we offer a unique solution to the market.”
