McCownGordon Construction continues to scale for regional growth

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 4, 2019) – McCownGordon Construction, one the Midwest region’s largest construction management firms, named Nancy Whitworth as Chief People Officer and has expanded its Leadership Team by adding Steve Levy as senior vice president of construction operations. Whitworth brings more that 25 years of human resources experience, 11 with McCownGordon, to her new role as Chief People Officer. Levy, who relocated to Kansas City from Dallas, has over 35 years of construction operations experience across both field operations and project management.

“Our firm continues to grow regionally, and we have worked hard to scale the company to increase our presence both geographically and within key vertical markets that we feel will fuel our growth,” said Ramin Cherafat, chief executive officer. “The creation of the Chief People Officer role is consistent with our company’s steadfast commitment to our associates and culture. In her new role, Nancy will have a laser focus on our associates and their training and development. Additionally, bringing on Steve Levy will help our team to continue to deliver on our strong track record of operational performance across our business units. We regularly hear from our clients that our people make McCownGordon a different kind of construction company and these moves align with our commitment to continue investing in our team, which in turn will provide exceptional service to our clients.”

As chief people officer, Whitworth will continue to foster an environment that encourages talent and cultivates leadership skills while fostering associate engagement. With more than a decade of experience at McCownGordon, Whitworth understands the company, culture and people, making her ideally suited to serve in her new role. Prior to McCownGordon, she held human resources roles with various companies including Transamerica, and YRC Freight.

Levy brings additional senior-level operational depth to the team with significant expertise in scaling for ongoing growth. Levy cited McCownGordon’s culture as a chief reason he opted to join the firm. Originally from Jamaica where he started his career in construction, Levy graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in construction engineering. Most recently he worked at Cadence McShane in Dallas, TX and previously spent more than 25 years with Charter Builders/Balfour Beatty Construction.
