Project Case Study
This hospital features an operating room, emergency room, laboratory, hydrotherapy pool, pharmacy, MRI suite, outpatient clinic and multiple conference rooms. The newly constructed hospital also includes a kitchen/dining area for patients and staff. North Central Kansas Medical Center obtained financing through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
During preconstruction, the building was designed 8,000 square feet over the original plan, so McCownGordon assisted in the redesigning process. McCownGordon also worked through cost options when the project was over budget on bid day due to market escalation, specifically steel. The team went through multiple cost options and was successful in getting the project back in budget while keeping the alternates.
