The project scope included two floors of renovations to expand two services for the health system. On Level 1, a new Sterile Processing Department addition was added to provide sterile instruments and materials throughout the hospital. Additionally, an expansion of the existing surgery department adding four new ORs with Steris Clean Suite Ceiling systems and a Hybrid OR with Philips Azurion Imaging equipment to provide additional cardiovascular capacity and other expanded service capabilities.
On Level 2, the McCownGordon team worked closely with Olathe Health to evaluate options for meeting the requirements of USP 797 and 800 for their pharmacy renovation. After extensive research and communication with Olathe Health and design team, the best course of action was to relocate the existing pharmacy as an addition to the hospital instead of the initial plan to leave it in place. The innovation of the team resulted in not only a savings of 12 to 18 percent, but also a facility that is better suited to serve patients and improves pharmaceutical efficiencies and workflow.
