Upgrading Two Active High Schools
At Lawrence High School, completed an addition and complex, multi-phased renovations that improved the learning spaces and addressed infrastructure needs. The high school received 21st century learning enhancements including an open media center to address technology flexibility and adaptability, outdoor learning and updated athletic facilities including wrestling, weights, locker rooms, and the aquatics space.
Free State High School received classroom additions along with enhanced classroom space to offer students innovative learning pockets, collaborative areas, outdoor learning, and media centers that incorporated technology.
Every middle school was renovated to create more collaborative classroom environments. These enhancements featured updated library/media centers and adaptable collaboration spaces.
As part of a sustainability initiative, all facilities included lighting replacements to support LED, and deferred maintenance and equipment replacement to HVAC systems to reduce maintenance and energy consumption.
All projects were completed while school was in session, requiring seamless coordination and communication with all stakeholders.
