USD 422 selected McCownGordon to provide construction management at-risk services for the new school facilities. Teaming with BNIM Architects, both firms took aggressive steps to rebuild an eco-friendly, iconic school for the small town after their devasting tornado. The new building includes a high school, junior high and elementary school, with shared support facilities, including an auditorium, stadium athletic fields with track, two gyms, cafeteria, and iTV classrooms - an interactive technology for teaching multiple classrooms from different schools simultaneously. The new K-12 school also provides a place for students, adults, community members and visitors to learn about sustainable design and construction and everyday green practices.
