Derby selected McCownGordon to be the construction manager at-risk for the district’s bond plan. The bond includes $60.4 million for a new elementary in addition to improvements at Derby High School, Derby Middle School, several elementary schools, transportation and maintenance/grounds building, administration building, and athletic field improvements.
These projects involve a variety of facility upgrades including restroom remodels, stadium upgrades, tennis court lighting, new administrative offices, high school multi-purpose PE spaces, HVAC replacement and upgrades to improve efficiency, and near full replacement schools. All the district facilities will now have storm shelters on site. The new administration building will be two story building to bring the three existing administrative spaces onto the same site, central district data room, increasing district efficiency and communication.
