The Johnson County Communications Center is an emergency communications facility that operates 24 hours a day and seven days a week. The building provides citizens added support and emergency operations, back up for emergency crisis situations and increased training for dispatch. Spanning 47,000 square feet, the center includes a 911-call center with 41 dispatch stations, back up areas, conference rooms, office space, training areas and a high-end breakroom/kitchen. The fully redundant (2N) electrical and mechanical systems can stand alone and maintain operation for four days. The power generators within the systems include a water storage tank, which provides water to areas within the building including drinking fountains and lavatories. Designed to create a stimulating, sustainable environment for all tenants, the work space is innovative, wellness enhanced and energy efficient, giving each occupant control of their own space.
