The General Services Administration awarded McCownGordon’s developer-led team the new U.S. Attorney’s office serving the eastern district of Oklahoma. Design was implemented to provide a quality-working environment for users while incorporating the ecological diversity of Oklahoma and its rich Native American tribe history. The building’s exterior columns are reminiscent of those at the entry of the Federal Courthouse and reinforce the federal character of the facility while remaining current. The multi-story office houses a parking garage on the first floor and office and meeting space on the remaining floors. The project, certified LEED Gold, features energy efficient water, electrical and mechanical systems and integration of indoor air quality, environmentally friendly materials, storm water quantity/quality and construction recycling. Throughout the project, the team focused on open discussion and partnership integration to keep the project running smoothly. The team provided cost-saving solutions in the preconstruction phase, which ultimately increased the value for the U.S. government.
