KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Jan. 11, 2018) Brian Morris has joined McCownGordon Construction in Kansas City as a project development manager. Morris will report directly to Jeff Bennett, the firm’s vice president, business development. In this role, Morris will focus on project development in the higher education and sports projects throughout the Midwest.

Morris joins the firm from the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he served as the senior associate athletics director for external operations. As a member of the senior staff he was actively involved in the growth and development of the university’s athletics program including securing and administering financial gifts and the securing and oversight of sponsorships. He holds a master of education - sports management from Wichita State University and a bachelor of science degree in journalism and mass communications from Kansas State University.
McCownGordon has completed more than $700 million in construction in the higher education market sector with signature projects across Kansas and Missouri, as well as South Dakota. The firm is currently performing construction management services for a variety of significant projects in the region, including the Central District project on the campus of the University of Kansas, the renovation of Kemper Arena in the West Bottoms of Kansas City, Missouri, the Children’s Mercy Research Tower, the 21c Hotel and Garmin Headquarters Expansion/Warehouse/Office Renovation among others.
