This year's Best Places to Work honorees will have a lot more company.
We are adding two categories this year: extra small (10-50 employees) and extra large (500+ employees) with the intent of showcasing the widest variety of workplaces and what they offer as perks while still maintaining the high scores that bring a Best Places to Work honor.
We often hear that this is one of the best awards a Kansas City-area company can win because the judges are the employees themselves.
The 2018 Best Places to Work honorees participated in an employee survey during the summer facilitated by our survey partner, Quantum Workplace. To qualify for consideration, companies had to have a minimum of 10 employees in Kansas City, and a preset number of employees had to complete the online survey. Quantum Workplace uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the top-scoring companies.
Ten companies will be honored in four of the categories (extra-small, small, medium and large), and five companies will be honored in the extra-large category.
The top three scorers in each category will be announced at a luncheon Oct. 12 at Arrowhead Stadium.
You can also read profiles of each honoree in print and online Oct. 12.
