KANSAS CITY, Mo. (April 12, 2018) Ramin Cherafat is filling a big and shiny pair of shoes, succeeding the inimitable Pat McCown as CEO as their fast-growing construction firm transitions from McCown and co-founder (and Power 100 honoree) Brett Gordon.

Cherafat joined in 2000, about a year after the company’s founding. It has grown from 15 employees and $15 million in annual revenue to 320 workers and an $800 million backlog. The firm’s high-profile recent projects include the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood and the University of Kansas’ new Health Education Building.

Like his predecessor in the seat, Cherafat professes an affection for doing what’s right for employees, clients and the community.

Ramin Cherafat's vitals:

  • New to Power 100
  • Cherafat, who began working for McCownGordon in 2000, became the construction firm's CEO in 2018. He became the company's third partner in 2007.
  • He is a member of the 2014 class of the Business Journal's NextGen Leaders.
  • The Kansas City general contractor was chosen as a Champion of Business in 2016, 2015 and 2014, earning the company a spot in our Hall of Champions.
  • The company is a perennial honoree in the Business Journal's Best Places to Work awards, and it also has been named as a Healthiest Employer.
